Stuart Hill:

Stuart was admitted to practise as a solicitor in 1973 and as a Barrister in 1976. During his career he has appeared in many courts, and in most jurisdictions.
Stuart acted as a District Court Arbitrator and as a Commissioner for taking evidence on commission. He has acted as a Mediator and represented clients at mediations.

Stuart was the Representative of the NSW Bar Association for Wollongong. He regularly represented the Bar at Court and at University functions.
Stuart had a remarkable career as a barrister and has always been greatly respected amongst his peers.
We wish Stuart a happy retirement after a monumental 40+ years in the industry.

 

Melissa Humphreys:

Melissa Humphreys was a Barrister of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia. Melissa was admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 18 February 2005; obtained a practising certificate as a barrister on 3 September 2007; and was registered as a legal practitioner of the High Court of Australia, entitled to practise as a barrister in any federal court, on 18 January 2008.

Melissa holds a Bachelor of Business from Edith Cowan University, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wollongong, and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Wollongong.

Melissa had an extremely busy general practice, with an emphasis on family law and criminal law. She also appeared and advised in Children's Court, succession, civil litigation, workers' compensation, and other legal disputes.

Melissa was sworn in as a Magistrate of the Local Court in early 2021. We are all so extremely proud of Melissa and her accomplishments in her career as a barrister and wish her all the best in her new role as a Local Court Magistrate.
